Home Services Areas Pricing Blog About Book Service

"AC service in Bali" sounds like one job, but in practice it covers everything from a quick filter wash to recovering a unit that's been dripping water down a villa wall for a week. After years on the road across the island — from cliff villas on the Bukit to jungle homes above Ubud and busy cafés in Canggu — we've serviced just about every brand and every kind of fault Bali can throw at an air conditioner. This is the plain-English overview of what professional AC service in Bali actually involves, what it costs, which brands we handle, and how to book it without the usual headaches.

AC Services We Provide

Almost everything we do falls into four buckets. AC cleaning is the routine, preventive work — washing filters, cleaning the indoor coil with a safe chemical spray, flushing the condensate drain and washing the outdoor condenser so the unit runs efficiently and hygienically. AC repair is what happens when something has already failed: a refrigerant leak, a dead capacitor, a flooded drain, a unit that trips the breaker. AC gas refill — topping up or recharging refrigerant after we've found and fixed the leak — restores cooling on a unit blowing warm air. And AC installation covers supplying and fitting a new split unit, including the wiring, piping and drainage. Wrap any of these into a scheduled plan and it becomes AC maintenance, which is simply cleaning and checks on a calendar so nothing gets forgotten. We dig deeper into each in our guides on AC cleaning Bali, AC repair Bali and AC maintenance contracts.

Why AC Servicing Is Different in Bali's Humid Climate

An air conditioner in Bali leads a brutal life. There's no winter, so a villa unit can run 8–14 hours a day, every day, and parts wear two to three times faster than they would in a temperate climate. Relative humidity sits at 75–90% year-round, which breeds mould and bacteria on the cold indoor coil — that black slime and musty smell — and floods condensate drains until water pours onto floors and ceilings. On the coast in Seminyak, Canggu and across the Bukit around Uluwatu, salt air corrodes outdoor condensers, sometimes to failure within a few years. And organic debris — pollen, leaves, insects, the occasional gecko — clogs filters, coils and drains, a particular problem in the jungle zones above Ubud. The practical consequence is simple: AC in Bali needs far more frequent attention than back home, and a technician who only changes the filter and leaves isn't really servicing it at all.

Brands We Service: Daikin, Panasonic, Sharp, LG, Samsung

Bali villas, hotels and cafes run a wide spread of brands, and a competent AC technician should handle all of them. We clean, repair and install Daikin, Panasonic, Sharp, LG, Samsung, plus Mitsubishi Electric, Gree, Midea, Changhong and every other common split-system and ceiling-cassette unit on the island. Daikin and Panasonic tend to be the workhorses in higher-end villas around Seminyak and the Bukit; Sharp, LG and Samsung are everywhere from Kuta guesthouses to Ubud homes; budget brands fill out the apartment market. The servicing fundamentals are the same across every brand — filters, coil, drain, refrigerant, electrics. What changes is the availability and price of spare parts, which is genuinely worth knowing before you buy a new unit, because a cheap AC with no local parts support can cost more over five years than a Daikin.

AC Service Prices in Bali — What to Expect

Pricing in Bali is refreshingly transparent once you know the ranges. A standard clean is around IDR 150,000 per split unit; a chemical deep clean runs IDR 250,000–350,000. AC repair starts with a diagnostic of IDR 100,000–150,000 (usually deducted if you proceed), with common jobs like an AC gas refill at IDR 350,000–600,000, a capacitor at IDR 150,000–300,000 and a fan motor at IDR 300,000–700,000. A new split AC installation typically runs IDR 350,000–700,000 in labour on top of the unit itself, more if extra piping or a wall core-drill is involved. Maintenance contracts start around IDR 800,000 per unit per year for quarterly service and rise for monthly plans, with multi-unit discounts for villas and hotels. Set against the IDR 2–5 million cost of a replacement compressor, routine cleaning is the cheapest insurance you can buy. See the full breakdown on our AC service pricing page.

FAQ

Do you service all AC brands in Bali? Yes — Daikin, Panasonic, Sharp, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi, Gree, Midea and every other common split and cassette unit. The cleaning and repair fundamentals are the same across brands; only the spare parts differ.

My split AC is not cold — can you fix it? Almost always. An AC not cold in Bali is usually a dirty coil, a blocked filter or low refrigerant from a slow leak. We diagnose first, then quote. More on that in our AC not cooling guide.

How fast can a technician come? Same-day in most areas — Seminyak, Canggu, Kuta, Sanur — and same-day in Ubud and Uluwatu when booked before 2pm.

Do you do AC gas refill and installation too? Yes. We handle refrigerant recharge after fixing the leak, and full new-unit installation including wiring and drainage. See our AC installation guide.

How to Book AC Service in Bali

Booking is deliberately simple: message us on WhatsApp with your area, your property type and what's wrong — "AC not cooling in a Canggu villa", "three units need cleaning in Seminyak", "new AC to install in an Ubud bedroom" — and we'll give you a time and an honest price range straight away. For repairs we diagnose before quoting, so you never pay blind. If you run a villa, hotel or office with several units, ask about an AC maintenance contract — scheduled cleaning is the cheapest way to own AC in the tropics, because the unit never gets the chance to fail in the first place.
